Went to a see Arrested Dev. in The Village last Sunday. The old timers havn't lost it, a great gig....however it was my first time seeing a live performance of that size (sold out) in the village. What a crap venue - unless you are up the front your vision is completly impared by either the ceiling/balcony above or two poles that are position smack bang in the middle of the stage. Also, the toilets are positioned behind the stage, so you have a constant stream of people running by the side of the stage.
I don't know, I really just don't know :)

i must say i love the village... admittedly when its packed so tight you cant move it isnt very nice at all but when its nicely full enough that you can move around its great. from a playing point of view its really lovely, played it twice and its by far my favourite venue from that side of things.
went to see the coldspoon conspiracy gig there and that was excellent too
however mogwai there was a bit of a pain, very very difficult to see the stage, still an awesome gig

the village is a great venue for its size.
good sound and the talkers at the bar are away from the crowd.
if you think the village is a bad venue god help you when you go to the hub !

Well, in my opinion, it's not great, just to agree with the others, the toilets at the back of the stage is not good cause people push up past you to go there, and if you're there at the front, and you wanna get a drink, you have to push back past the crowd and get your drink and then push back up past them again.
The two big huge poles in the middel aren't great either, but having said that the sound is always always great......

Well I think as an experiment everyone on these boards should head there tomorrow night (Feb 5th) to see whether or not it's a good venue.
Oh and Dwight are also launching their debut EP "Kill or Cure" that night.
And the first ten people to text Dwight followed by your name to 086-8140039 get allocated 2 slots on the guestlist!
