Warrior One - POD
Warrior
One are 2 people. One of them is called 4. Both are 29. One lives East
London. One lives West. One is from Dublin. One of them isn't. One is
the producer. One is the reducer. Carl is not your average Brummie in
exile. A half-Seychellois yoga teacher and certified wizard that lives
off overpriced white tea and himalayan salt, he can be found mincing
round Notting Hill, listening to Arvo Part and harping on about 7 year
cycles to anyone that'll listen. A lovable chancer, you can always find
him tearing it up in the kitchen, avoiding his degree work, and
jabbering about some new genre that no-ones ever heard of. Carl spent
his twenties in Brighton and started producing music as one half of
Black Grass on Catskills Records (Edit - Seminal first LP only thank you
very much!) He also recorded with deep minimal wunderkid Shenoda, as,
er Shenoda and Faure. And as a DJ, he travelled from Australia to
Lithuania and beyond, peddling his own brand of Big Beat, doing a few
remixes, and getting caned quite a bit, until it was time to leave town.
Mr. Bradshaw cut his DJ teeth in every decent Dublin nightspot and fast
became the number one Dublin resident DJ, and as such has definitely
paid his dues on the wheels of truth. But he too got caned quite a bit
until it was time to leave town. Now focusing on their Warrior One guise,
they're currently in the studio amassing a fierce collection of bangers and a
few nice and smooth ballads for their debut LP. Ready to emerge as the
figureheads of new-left-funky (anyone?) their incubation period is nearly over.

NIC JAMES & FRIENDS - POD
So
back to the music! In The Pod, PODium welcomes back Nic James to the
venue he once called his own, providing you with an eclectic mix of
customary dance music with intermittent blasts of chart hits, hip-hop
and BASS (imagine Cee-lo Green and Diplo’s love child!). http://soundcloud.com/nic-jame...xx-1
SONGS OF PRAISE - Chocolate Bar
Things
take a rather more audacious direction with the Songs Of Praise team
bringing their original Rock and Roll Karaoke Club to The Chocolate Bar.
No, don’t expect Celine Dion or ABBA, you can stand up and be a rock
God. Email the guys at sop@therescuesquad.com if you have any special requests for the night. The SOP song list is available here; http://www.therescuesquad.com/....pdf
DAVID DE VALERA & FRIENDS - CrawDaddy
David
De Valera (voted Ireland’s best resident Dj 2010) shows that there’s
more to Irish electronic music than many people really appreciate. He
set his own agenda ever since his early days playing in some of Dublin's
most infamous club nights and he’s sure to make his own with
carefully selected international guests and the best in home grown
talent playing the finest House and Techno. Very few Dj’s do house and
techno better than David De Valera. David will be joined by Adam Keni and Jay Reid
Adam Keni - CrawDaddy
Keni's dj style is heavily orientated around a house core, with flavors
ranging from deep-house rhythms, pumping tech-house, to chuggy
afro-cuban flavours. His production very much reflects this, being
heavily inspired by the likes of Julian Chaptal, Davide Squillace,
Matthias Tanzman, Marco Carola, Roman Tapia, Coyu, Sebastien Leger and
more...
So to sum it all
up..PODium combines three very individual rooms in the POD Complex on
Harcourt Street ; Pod, The Chocolate Bar and Crawdaddy. Music lovers and
clubbers can indulge all their senses, thanks to the carefully chosen
local talent and international up and coming dance DJ/producers.
We can also cater for groups with VIP packages including your own bottle of spirits/champagne for your crew. Contact podiumpod@gmail.com for details.
