Saturdays are back!
Encompassing
three rooms, PODium will deliver a uniquely diverse lineup of music and
entertainment unlike anything you’ve seen in The Pod before. Starting
from November 6th, every week, you’ll be served up party fueled bass
music from resident Nic James in the new look Pod room, rock and roll
karaoke in the Chocolate Bar provided by the prolific Songs Of Praise
team, and in Crawdaddy, David De Valera and friends deliver the finest house and techno with the most exciting international acts. This weeks international guest is Tim Green!
While
catering for the more adventurous reveler, PODium every Saturday will
ensure that you experience a vibrant, entertaining night out - week in,
week out. And in keeping true to the essence of change, The Pod has
upgraded its sound-system, adding finesse to the interior, and in doing
so expanded the size of the dancefloor, adding nicely to the clubbing
experience.
So back to the music! In The Pod, PODium
welcomes back Nic James to the venue he once called his own, providing
you with an eclectic mix of customary dance music with intermittent
blasts of chart hits, hip-hop and BASS (imagine Cee-lo Brown and Diplo’s
love child!). You can expect surprises from week to week in The Pod
with Nic bringing some friends and international guests to join the
fray. Warrior One joins Nic James on Saturday 20th NovemberNic James PODium Mix : http://soundcloud.com/nic-james-1/pod-mixxx-1
Things
take a rather more audacious direction with the Songs Of Praise team
bringing their original Rock and Roll Karaoke Club to The Chocolate Bar.
No, don’t expect Celine Dion or ABBA, you can stand up and be a rock
God… for your own 5 minutes of fame. It ranges from the sublime to the
ridiculous but don’t worry, they encourage the less talented performer
because there’s nothing rock and roll about being able to sing!
David
De Valera (voted Ireland’s best resident Dj 2010) takes over Crawdaddy
after holding residency in the Pod for over 2 years. David shows that
there’s more to Irish electronic music than many people really
appreciate. He set his own agenda ever since his early days playing in
some of Dublin's most infamous club nights and he’s sure to make
Crawdaddy his own with carefully selected international guests and the
best in home grown talent playing the finest House and Techno. Very few
Dj’s do house and techno better than David De Valera. 2000 and One joins David De Valera on Saturday 19th December As a DJ,
Tim Green's talents have taken him to every corner of the globe. From
Asia, Australia, South America, North America, and extensively across
Europe Tim can be found rocking dancefloors every weekend in some of the
worlds best clubs. From Fabric London, to Womb Tokyo, Watergate Berlin,
Space Ibiza, Studio 80 Amsterdam, Tribe Festival Brazil, Rex Club
Paris, Circus Liverpool, Mondo Madrid, Hive Club Zurich, Nuit Sonores
Festival France, Lost Baggage Sydney and many more. Not to mention his
own club night called Bedlam which he holds in his home county of Kent
and welcomes along esteemed colleges to a raucous party atmosphere. http://www.myspace.com/tg909
