It gives me great pleasure to present to you the Hardest working department of the Ballyfermot college of further education. No, not the oscar winning animation department, but the rockers. These buskers and vagabonds, poets and fools are at present polishing off their live sets- getting ready for the most anticipated showcase event of the college year.
 
EARCANDY, set over three consecutive wednesdays of April 21st, 28t and May 5th 2010, takes to the stage of the village, on wexford street, and promises to be three nights of exciting and dynamic music ranging from the absurd to the heartfelt. Set in one of Dublins premier live music venues. These songwriters and musicians, from around the country- having collaborated under training, in the art of making music. 7 acts each night will showcase some of the best new sounds our island has to offer. Live.
 
Recorded on 5 live television cameras each night, this major event in the college life sees with it the co operation of many professionals from BCFE including  crews, audio engineers and lighting designers.Past pupils like Wallis Bird, Mundy and Damien Dempsey have paved the way in proving that Ballyfermots music department have always been and still are in the fore when it comes to producing Irelands top songriters and musicians.
