Was anyone at the Schneider TM gig in the Red Room in Cork on Friday? Pretty amazing stuff! Initially the gig looked like it was going to be a bit of a disaster, It started two hours late. After the first song it looked like he was going to go off at deep end, he played a rather long and extreme sounding version of one the tracks from his first album "Moist", which had the kind of noise that would probably even make a Sonic Youth fan wince. Possibly due to nerves, he and the rest of the band seemed a little too concerned with their electronic toys and not the audience. However by the time he got "Frogtoise" from "Zoomer" he really had come out of his shell and was dancing with the audience. He had everybody singing, dancing and even playing maracas! He also proved that the idea Germans have no sense of humour to be a complete myth by taking himself far less seriously than most bands without descending into "novelty act" territory. Definitely one of the highlights of the year, apparently he played Dublin too. Anyone at that gig?
