"Just imagine the world reaching the
end of its tri-millennial life-cycle and imploding again. Dark? Now just imagine
rhythm. Primal, learning, glittering rhythm…" - Drowned in Sound
"Think
the bombastic pound of Boredoms, the skewed structures of Deerhoof, and the
tribal thump of Liars…." – Pitchfork
“Health music can be harsh and
grating, but also sensually smooth and sexy and electronic and also metallic and
all Fodderstompfy."
- L.A Weekly
HEALTH's brutal diversity is at the
forefront of LA's burgeoning experimental scene. Their self-titled debut saw the
light of day early last year via Lovepump United having already received
accolades from Pitchfork and Drowned in Sound where the album was
voted in the top ten albums of last year.
Having been together for six months
before playing live, and eight months before releasing anything, Health's
notoriety centred around LA's The Smell venue where more often than not they
played free all-ages shows to those eager to lose themselves in the band's
volatile experimental noise.
Get Color is the highly anticipated
second album from Los Angeles noise-wonders HEALTH. After two solid years
touring with the likes of Nine Inch Nails, Of Montreal, Dan Deacon, Crystal
Castles, etc., and releasing their much-loved self-titled debut and bangin'
HEALTH//DISCO remix record, the band convened in an especially gnarly part of
Lincoln Heights, L.A to record Get Color.
The record is an
exuberant proclamation of noise, rock and electronic splendor. It's a
celebration of sound - pretty, harsh, soft and basked in a blanket of ethereal
vocals. Get Color is the manifesto HEALTH have been promising since their
inception. www.lpurerecords.com

Twenty-four year-old Denver weirdo
performance artist Travis Egedy, a.k.a. Pictureplane, obsesses over the cosmos,
90s house music, collective consciousness, and mind-altering chemicals. Much
like his interests, Pictureplane's music is strange and
boundless. Having cut his teeth on raging tours with HEALTH, a collab
with Beirut's Zach Condon and killer remixes for Crystal Castles, HEALTH, and
Thieves Like Us, Pictureplane delivered his first full-length for Lovepump,
Dark Rift last month. Grimy synths, broken beats, and bucolic vocals
collide somewhere between early 90s house music and the gnarly soundscapes of
Black Dice to forge a sound that's wholly unique and endlessly
exciting. It's exceedlingly rare to find dance music that transcends the
cold and robotic, but on Dark Rift Pictureplane does just that: churning
out intricate electronic jams out of his near-legendary Denver warehouse space
Rhinoceropolis.

Wounds Wounds are a band from
Ireland comprised of four people who all listen to completely different music,
two being brothers and the other two being friends. Bombastic and fearless,
their live shows have earned them a worthy rep. Already they have opened for
Health, Rolo Tomassi, Mi Ami, Cancer Bats, An Albatross, Crocodiles, and
Gallows.
