For real or a desperate cry for publicity after yet another dud album? Does anyone really care anymore?

In all honesty they probably should have split up 7/8 years ago. Although funnily enough the last two out of three albums were alright. I havent listened to the latest one. The single was awful. Have difficulty seeing Noel pursuing a fruitful solo career at his point. Perhaps 8 years ago, just when Oasis started to look ridiculous. Its funny, when I was 16 (mid nineties) Liam Gallagher was the coolest man on the planet, but you have to mature and move with the times and when I compare Blur say, to Oasis, I know whose music stands up now....I mean at what age do you start to look silly cursing on telly for the sake of it and walking like a pidgeon.....
In my opinion Noel wrote 25 great songs and then recorded them with the band over 3 years. That was it. He spent the last 12 years trying to improve but frankly with a limited vocalist and no other capable musician in the band it's difficult to progress..
Does anyone think either ones solo album will succeed?

I think any future stuff by Noel might stand some sort of chance to be above ridicule, sell a few copies and sell out tours of theatre-sized venues. But as for anything by Liam? If he decides to do some solo stuff I could imagine it - at best - going the way of Delores O'Riordain...

It's definitely a win for Noel rather than Liam. The prospect of seeing him play Oasis songs on an acoustic guitar in some theatre is more appealing than going to see Oasis (even with Noel) go through the lad-rock motions. And as for which of Noel or post-Noel Oasis is more likely to make a decent record: no contest.

will be interesting to see where both parties go from here. Might even give Noel a boot in the hoop and the hunger may reappear for an album of decent tunes
