    New Amusement
Since forming in 2007, Dublin band new|amusement have released a six track mini-album (Any Port In A Storm, April 2008) as well as a double A-side 7 inch (Jamboree/Shocks, March 2009) both on Any Other City Records, with the latter receiving radio airplay from the likes of Steve Lamacq (who made new|amusement his Unsigned Band of the Week) and Jean-Pierre Sablier of Virgin Radio France. These releases, along with strong live performances, have earned them support slots with Nada Surf, British Sea Power, Blood Red Shoes, Maximo Park and Vampire Weekend, as well as a set at last year’s Oxegen festival. The band will record their debut full length album this summer with its release planned towards the end of 2009. www.myspace.com/newamusement

    202s
202s are a band with a healthy appreciation for the past, but a burning, lustful passion for the future. Their debut album, released by Parisian indie label le son du maquis is an eclectic affair taking in synth pop, ambient instrumentals, psych folk flavours and more and has invited comparisons with artists including Sterolab, Flaming Lips, Kraftwerk, Air, Eno, the Velvet Underground and Can.

    Humanzi

Following a seemingly two-year silence, Humanzi are now locked and loaded and ready to fire out their most exciting offerings to date. A move to Berlin from Dublin in early 2007 culminated in an album that can be described as a passionate and daring body of work. On the live circuit, new material has evoked excitement so, be sure to catch them live at Psychofest '09, which will be the last night of their Irish summer tour. New single ‘BassBalls’ comes out on 7inch and digital download from June 5th on Kick In The Eye Records.  www.myspace.com/humanzi

    Cheap Freaks

CHEAP FREAKS Dublin City's power-trash garage punks, fronted by (ex-Things bassist) Robbie Brady and fellow Dubliner Al Dodd. With primitive cave-punk songs of sex, drugs, war and, violence, these freaks kick out some serious motha f*ckin' jams!  www.myspace.com/cheapfreaks

    Wounds

Wounds are a 4-piece noise-inspired garage band from Dublin city. Drawing inspiration from bands like The Locust, Black Lips, Death from Above and a mutual love for Prince, they sound like Refused playing Joy Division songs.

    The Hot Sprockets

The Hot Sprockets hail from the suburbs of Dublin .  They are five friends who came together with a shared love of rock’n’roll music, the kind haunted by the ghost of country and blues. Take the good-time revolutionary spirit of MC5, simmer it down to the sounds of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, add some rough-edged style of Eagles of Death Metal and your close to the perfect recipe for a beautiful sonic nugget that we like to call ‘The Hot Sprockets.”

    The Mighty Stef

The Mighty Stef has gone from one-man acoustic shout-fest to eight piece sweat-fest and everything in between. 4 years,2 albums, 2 EPs, 1000 band members, 30,000 plus tour-miles, 4 Psychofest's, 1 recession and a million love-song's later....Stefan Murphy's dirty and damaged pop music continues to frighten and enlighten the towns-folk. Cautionary Folk tales, Tender dirges about love, goodtime rock’n’roll and euphoric pop anthems....Call The Fuckin' Gards!!!

    Percolator

Percolator is an Irish three-piece band. Recently they’ve gigged with bands such as A Place To Bury Strangers, Oxford Collapse, Ilya K and Katie Kim, establishing themselves as an exciting upcoming band in the Irish alternative scene. Often compared to My Bloody Valentine and Sonic Youth, their music is not just for gazing at shoes, it has a raw edge. A forthcoming EP is expected.

    The Brothers Movement

Formed in 2008, the Brothers Movement have been rocking Dublin with blistering live shows and high profile support slots across Europe, including opening for Black Rebel Motorcycle club in Amsterdam, Berlin and Ireland, the Jesus and Mary chain at the Roundhouse, London. The band appeared at this years SXSW festival in Austin , Texas . Tipped as one’s to watch for 2009, the Brothers Movement are one of the most exciting new bands in Ireland .

Formed in 2005, Hassle Merchants have become one of Irelands “must see acts”. Whether staging one of their own street gigs, a “Merchantsville” club night or touring the UK , they bring their own brand of energy fuelled alternative punk where ever they go. Known for their relentless gigging and adrenaline filled live shows, they were crowned Connected magazines “Band of the Year” in 2007 and packed the Hard Working Class Heroes festival the same year.

    House of Dolls

Dublin city four piece with a lust for brain blistering sonic chaos and blissful psychedelic shoegaze. Having spent time recording tracks in Berlin earlier in the year, expect a summer release. www.myspace.com/houseofdollsofficial

    Howlin' Dowlin

Howlin’ Dowlin are made up of four rock’n'rollers from Dublin city playing rock/pop music. Formed in 2008 and been gigging across the city, they aren’t Psycho Fest virgins! www.myspace.com/howlindowlin1

    Boom Jackson

Boom Jackson is a four piece rock and roll band. Basing their sound on the noise sent to us from the trash of the sixties and the blur that was the seventies and playing it with the passion of the punk rock pioneers. Boom Jackson want to bring you a joyous, soulful and intense experience to get down and rock out to.
