Hudson Mohawke aka Hud Mo is a producer who is helping define a new era for Hip Hop music. And that’s not schmutz imposed by us here - sometimes it is like everyone bar us is talking about him in quotables. Press talk like’… Hud Mo is the most exciting hip hop producer of our time’. The music was not caused by a preconceived plan to change the game. Quite the opposite. Hud Mo was a young bedroom producer in a town known for every music bar rap. He had no idea that his indulgence in hardcore, techno, prog, fusion and electro would capture so much attention. As part of Surface Emp with Dom Sum he played live with many great acts and via records with Mike Slott as Heralds of Change he helped create a new experimental approach to production that you no doubt hear across all of myspace. At the [b]Red Bull Music Academy in Toronto in 07 he was announced by Steve Beckett as the latest signing to [b]Warp records. Since then he’s been playing some excellent parties, and working on the LP due in 2009.
[b]Mike Slott..
Mike Slott aka Slottkavic is a producer in the Heralds of Change. He has lived in Chicago, Glasgow, Dublin and now resides in Harlem, New York. Mike is a talented producer in a lineage of music royalty, with his father being the first major label jazz signing in Ireland. His brother was signed to Sony BMG age 17, and even his cousin is an ex-member of Irelands most successful golden-era hip hop group. Not victim to expectation he wears his emersion in music very easily, moving this niche new music ever onward. If he’s not in the cue of a low-cost airline you can find him in video-conference on ichat, possibley quaffing almond croissants in a slow food coffee shop. Damn that’s jazz.

Mind Blowing…a must see’ The Sunday Times
‘Top 20 bands to watch out for in 2009′ [b]Sunday Observer
‘I cannot get enough of these guys, they soothe the soul’ [b]US President Barack Obama
Heralded as one of the best live shows in the world at the moment, the momentum gathering behind the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble is nothing short of staggering. Booked to play [b]Glastonbury, The Big Chill, Lovebox and many more of the premier festivals in Europe this summer, Hypnotic are a huge favourite with the ChoiceCuts regulars and, having played here 10 times last year, we know of no other band of this calibre that have such mass appeal; their last Dublin show attracting everyone from punks to soul boys to techno freaks.
With fans including [b]Barack Obama, David Byrne, Q-Tip, Madlib, Jay-Z, Erykah Badu, Jools Holland and the soon-to-be-announced news that they (along with [b]Mos Def and T[b]ony Allen) will be the new [b]Gorrilaz outfit, this band is no ordinary collective. 8 brothers, all the sons of [b]Sun Ra Trumpeteer and songwriter [b]Phil Cohran, playing since they were 3 years of age, Hypnotic have a heritage deeper than most bands will ever attain.
[b]Damon Albarn’s ‘Honest Jon’s’ label are about to drop the Hypnotic’s first official full-length studio album in May, on which the music can only be regarded as spiritual, deep and enlightening. Their values of sound, form and structure in their musicianship and songwriting hold the live show together tighter than anything you have seen before, putting a lot of bands who are in the limelight to shame. They have brought Grafton Street to a halt whenever they have performed their impromtu busking sessions there, with the gardai helping out so that they could finish off their performances.
This is the real deal folks - music the way it was meant to be. From the heart, from the lungs. These guys don’t need to plug in to be heard. As they say themselves, they could play on a boat in the dark - they’re powered from within. US President [b]Barack Obama is a huge fan (his Chicago constituency is their hometown), inviting them to perform and help on his rallies in the run up to his presidency.. Children, Adults, US Presidents, Musicians, Police Officers will all vouch for Hypnotic, this show is the type of event that will lift you out of your recession woes and make you wanna leave your job to become a musician.
Don’t believe us? Check the video links (including one of the famous busking sessions on Grafton St!) from their previous trips to these shores as a taster.
