Fortuity smiles again and Eamonn Doran's have curiously decided to let us host another night of Futurism.

That's a slightly long-winded way of saying Futurism 002 is next Wednesday.

Each month, Futurism will showcase an artist from the extreme/unusual/just-plain-weird end of the faded artistic spectrum. Proponents of grime, hip-hop, Prog (the capital "P" is important) rock, astonishing pop, techno, dub reggae and anything that hasn't been tried before are all welcome.

For the 21st, we're very happy to introduce the furious insanity of ABAM. A band relentless in gathering their momentum both on and off the stage, making recording ventures in the States and impressing humans on both sides of the atmosphere, we're very excited to see them bring the noise to Futurism! Support on the night comes from A Futurist Theatre.

After the bands have finished, Futurism DJs will seize control of the stage faster than the Casey Rybeck ever could, where they will play a selection of works some, none or all of which might be Fantomas, The Bronx, Roxy Music, Saul Williams, Nick Cave, Delays, !!!, Mastodon, Black Milk, Asian Dub Foundation and several hundred more.

So if you'd feel guilty sitting at home watching Grey's Anatomy on your own, why not keep your spirits up by visiting Doran's on January 21st, where all long neck bottles and vodka splash are €4? Futurism won't turn you away, guaranteed*

    *Not a guarantee.
