For me there were two. Interpol. I gave them another chance but they have zero stage presence and you may as well be listening to a CD when they play live. Battles. Considering the debate they caused here recently I had to check them out. Did they change my life? No, not even close. Holy Fuck do essentially the same thing but a million times better. And what is the story with that drum set up?

I wasn't at Oxegen myself but the previous weekend I was at the Werchter Festival in Belgium and Kings Of Leon (who I had never seen before and who I was lead to believe by many quarters would, er, change my life, or something like that...) came nowhere near the outrageously high expectations that were set for them. They were good, solid - heck even enjoyable - but at the end of the day they were nothing even close to extraordinary. Also Gossip in Werchter were pretty disappointing.

I went down just to see RATM lastnight, the sound was brutal, Zach didn't seem that into it, he barely interacted with the crowd. I also found the crowd was pretty dead for it aswell, I think alot of people who had never heard their stuff went along to see what the hype was about and weren't too impressed, defo not the show I was expecting, I still enjoyed it, expectations were probably too high but why shouldn't they be, anyone listen to their T in the Park set for comparison??

I have a lot of time for RATM but coming on stage over 20 minutes late didn't help, especially with the bright lights and big sound coming from the 02 stage. It was yet another main stage performance that just seemed flat.

Yeah I have to say, it was one of the best Oxegen's ever. Went on Friday & Saturday. I'll admit, I don't think I could have done it if I was camping and if I didn't have access to the VIP area, but I'm getting old after all. Comfort rules. Deus were just fab, I could not keep the smile off my face. 7 songs was not enough, roll on October in Tripod. I loved Interpol as always, although I've seen them play better. I can't help thinking Oxegen was not the place for them to play "Lighthouse". KOL were grand. Echo & The Bunnymen were good but not that engaging, left after a bit. Watched Amy Wino for one song to see if she was alive, I saw her sitting down, and I saw her knock back a drink in 3 seconds in between notes. Em, I did see other bands but not half of what I had planned. Got lazy yesterday and stayed at home, thus missing Band Of Horses, MGMT & RATM, doh. If I have to be negative, the crowd was mostly a shower of eejits, pissed up kids and farmer knackers. But apart from that, the traffic was a dream, the layout was grand, the toilets were acceptable, the ECO cup idea was good (although I gave away about €9 to the cause), the line up was great. Roll on EP.

Just went Saturday Biggest dissappointment, heavy shower of rain in the afternoon that made the place muddy. I thought REM put on a great show. Would have been great to see Amy Whinehouse in a tent, her music doesn't belong on the main stage in daylight but i guess she's too popular. Any outdoor stage is usually a rubbish place to watch a gig before it gets dark anyway. Surprised at the crazy popularity of The Tings Tings.

Organisation wise, I can't fault Oxegen this year bar 1 or 2 minor things. Standouts that I really enjoyed were Holy Fuck, White Denim, REM, Fighting with Wire, God is an Astronaut, dEUS, My Morning Jacket, Band of Horses, RATM & Raconteurs. Regards the eco cups ... I cashed in €84. Money for nothing.

Did you like White Denim? I thought they were terrible! Eco-cups rock, though I still have 8 of them in the boot of my car, reckon they'll still take them next year?

I liked what I saw of them ... about 20mins. I'd heard about the dodgy start they had & the consensus basically being that they blew it, which is a shame

Biggest disappointment? The Bars closing so damn early. 10 O'Clock was a joke since everything went on till around 1.30am. Went up at 9.45 on the Saturday and they still wouldn't let me in..
