Two of Iceland’s biggest music stars, Bjork and Sigur Ros, are to play together in Reykjavík on 28th June.
The concert will be held in Laugardalur Valley, a park area just outside Reykjavík city centre. Entrance to the concert will be free.
The purpose of the concert is to heighten peoples' awareness of environmental issues in Iceland, especially concerning the aluminium industry.
However, Bjork says: "Many fights for the environment end up being very negative. That's not what we want to do, we're not saying this and that should not be done, rather we are raising the question "what about all the other possibilities?"".
Also, word on the street in Reykjavík is that Radiohead will join the bill, but this has yet to be confirmed by the band. Looking at their tour dates, they play Glasgow on fri 27th and Manchester on Sun 29th so it is VERY possible! I'll be there anyway as I arrive in Reykjavík 2 days before
