One-woman indiepop phenomenon Soda Fountain Rag from Norway - see below for more information - is playing in Whelan's (upstairs) on Monday March 31st. Support comes from local miscreants Michael Knight and So Cow.

BIOGRAPHY

Soda Fountain Rag is 25 year-old Ragnhild Hogstad Jordahl, an accomplished multi-instrumentalist from Bergen in Norway. What began in 2006 as a casual creative outlet from playing drums and violin in Bergen bands The April Skies and Herr Nilsson turned into a cult phenomenon in 2007. Last year saw Soda Fountain Rag introduce her distinctive anti-folk synthpop through a number of highly-acclaimed (and now sold out!) limited edition cdr releases for labels such as Cloudberry (US), Anorak (France) & MyHoney (Italy) and shows with Jens Lekman, Suburban Kids with Biblical Names and other legends of Scandinavian indiepop. Her debut album "It's Rag Time!" will be released on April 14th by Dublin's yesboyicecream records.
