Journey to the Centre of the Beats Part 1 in association Heineken Music

Choice Cuts is proud to present a new series of live events taking place around Ireland that aims to showcase the many styles of music that have their backbone in 'beat culture'. As this will be a series of live shows, the artists will be diverse, eclectic and on top of their game performance-wise.

Edan and guest Dagha will be the first artists featured. Regarded by many who attended their Dublin show in Crawdaddy as the best live show of 2006, Edan and Dagha have recently been confirmed to appear on the ATP tour of The UK in May.

Edan, a genre-bender takes the purist hip hop approach and flips it on its head cleverly using psychedelic rock, punk and funk records over beats reminiscent of early Bomb Squad productions for Public Enemy. In a time of stagnant rap music, Edan is the ground-breaker, innovator and pioneer. His core fan base is as much in Indy and Punk circles as the hardened Hip Hop heads and not since the Beastie Boys, Public Enemy or Kool Keith has an artist created this buzz. Edan’s live show utilizes a Kazoo, Theremin, Guitar, Turntables and EFX with devastating results. Rhyme partner Dagha, is a constant presence in the performance. Their highly entertaining interplay and showmanship sees them weave in and out of each other's verses, sparring and challenging prolifically with amazing timing and skill.

Edan's creative path has stirred the interest of journalists and discerning music lovers throughout the world and he is only just beginning. He has shared the stage with artists such as KRS-ONE, Biz Markie, DJ Craze, Doug E Fresh, Amp Fiddler, DJ ZTrip, Jurassic 5, Gwen Mc Rae, Gary Bartz, Pharoah Monch, Daniel Johnston and many more. A self contained visionary who is capable of breaking ground in the studio as well as gernering praise from live crowds throughout the globe, Edan continues to make a refreshing mark in an industry that is overly saturated with predictibility and mediocrity.

Edan & Dagha play Galway(Support from Deviant)Thu 13th March, Dublin(support from The Infomatics)Sat 15th March and Cork(support and afterparty with Stevie G & Doobious)Sun 16th March on their Journey To The Centre of The Beats
