Yeah - it's a cool spot for a gig... nice green area (once the weather holds) & it's a fairly small "venue" - I'd say it holds no more than 1500.. not sure though - when I saw Iggy & The Stooges there, there were only around 400 punters at it (including Bono, though he was in the V.I.P. section... didn't hide his BAD combover though!). Even an agrophobe would like this venue!

cool... i was thinking it might be more in the 5,000 category... right, better watch out for tickets if it's that small... anyone know the scoop?

Could be a bit more than 1500 now, but the venue's no way near as big as the likes of Marlay Park.. it's still small enough to be fairly intimate

Usually avoid outdoor venues like the plaque but Dublin Castle is class...decent sound, good atmosphere etc......saw Ian Brown play an amazing gig there a few years back in torrential rain. Capacity is more 4-5000 though isn't it?

Probably - it was hard to judge at the Iggy gig coz the turn-out was lousy. The sound was excellent though.. worst outdoor venue's got to be Landsdowne (or was seeing as it's gone) - the sound there was atrocious.
