Anyone catch the gig in the Ambassador? Anyone else think the sound was pathetic?

I find most gigs in the Ambassador have poor sound. As for Teenage Fanclub, they're are such quality that it did'nt impare my enjoyment at all, where as other bands would be in danger of sounding sh1te.

zzzzz my arse, what do you want?, naked midget dancers?...boa morte were exquisite...the sound WAS s**te for teenage fanclub...the bass was deafening at times and the vocals were lost in the mix, which is not that unusual at a live gig of course...the worst thing was the lack of atmosphere, plenty of people turned up but it wasn't the euphoric celebration of great pop music i thought it was going to be...i thought they played the grand prix tracks pretty poorly, eg. 'mellow doubt' was way too fast and 'sparky's dream' was just bashed out unceremoniously...the night suited the bandwagonesque songs much better as it turned out, with 'starsign' and 'what you do to me' in particular trashy and thrilling...undoubted highlight though was the heavenly 'ain't that enough' which filled my heart with bliss, not sure about everyone else tho'...maybe teenage fanclub aren't as popular as i had thought...nice to hear trash can sinatra's 'outside' on the way out by the way...

Perhaps your right your majesty, in fairness to Boa Morte the sound was bad. Exquisite though? I too enjoyed 'ain't that enough', beautiful.

Your majesty, hee hee..., he's got you there lad! Nevertheless, I have bad vibes about the negativity expressed towards Boa Morte here. Great songs, well crafted but not the type you'd mosh to,laugh at or scream about. Their on-stage presence suited their music. And in fairness to king of nails, me and him were up at the front hopping to the music the whole time, in spite of poor sound. The general consensus of the audience however, were about as hyper as a bus queue............. Q2

Incidently, I was at the Idlewild gig there a couple of days later and I must say poor sound once again took away from the classic rock tunes from "The Remote Part" album. Disappointing really. Oh well Q2
