Cathy Davey has announced a month’s nation-wide residency tour to co-incide with the release of her new album, Tales from Silversleeve, in October. The dates will see Cathy Davey perform her new material in intimate surroundings of some of the countries best live music venues.

Produced by Liam Howe ( Sneaker Pimps ), Tales of Silversleeve, is the follow up to Cathy’s 2004 debut album Something Ilk. It will get its Irish release on 12 October, with the lead single Reuben, released on 21 September.

Yeah, got to say I admire her ambition\workrate, but is playing Whelans (for example) four weeks in a row really a good idea? Presumably it'll be the same crowd each time (and getting progressively smaller, because most people won't be bothered going to see the same thing 2 or 3 times). Surely it'd be better to play a few additional towns or venues instead?
