Have any other members been left waiting months for delivery of CDs from CDWow? I have been waiting 2 months for the National's Boxer, and have just heard that Ryan Adams' Easy Tiger will not be ready for delivery until July 27th, a month after it was released. I know that they lost a recent court case, but it seems to be business as usual on their web site, but it just doesn't seem worth the wait, even at cheaper prices.

Yup, i'm waiting on Boxer, and the new Rufus and Maximo park albums. A fire in a warehouse has caused the delays apparently.

When you finally do get them I would advise you send a stinker of an e-mail in which you vow never to deal with them again.

Might get some nice vouchers for your trouble

    also, welcome to the forum

I've been buying stuff regularly from CDWow over the last few years but when I saw that they decisively lost that court case and would have to cough millions I decided as a precaution to stop buying from them. But then they sent me an email and dangled a nice voucher in front of me. Sucker that I am I decided I'd go and buy something. However when I got to the page where they asked me for my credit card details the alarm bells started ringing. The page was not a secure page (i.e. a page whose address starts with "https", nor was there any of those padlock icons in my browser status bar to tell me the page was secure and that my credit card number would be encrypted, etc) so I abandoned the transaction. Between the warehouse fire and the lost court case I think it prudent to assume they are in some sort of trouble. Caveat emptor and all that. Eoghan.

You're right Admin. After the court case I kept on getting e-mails for 2euro discounts off CDs and DVDs. I ordered a CD but then noticed that the money had been taken from my account almost immediately, rather than when the CD has been posted. I sent them a few e-mails but got the usual reply about getting great support from the public and doing their bit to keep the price of CDs down.

I was waiting 3 months for a Gossip CD, so I cancelled the order. But I'd ordered CSS at the same time & it arrived a few days later.

When I read this I was alarmed and decided to check it out myself, and quite rightly the page is not https, however the form you fill in is in fact in a separate frame to the rest of the webpage. That frame is a https page.

In other news, one of the 3 cds arrived yesterday, but I got a delay notice about Boxer. Now they are blaming suppliers.
