Settler - Life Upstream launch gig
Settler launches its debut album, Life Upstream, on Fairview House Records (Ireland) and BrownStar Records (USA) on the 20th of January in Whelan’s, Wexford Street, Dublin.
Doors open at 8.30 and admission is €7.
Life Upstream is the full-length by Dublin band Settler.
The band recorded thirteen songs in Dhulaigh Studios, Dublin. Then a chance meeting in a car park in Chicago with Barry Phipps of The Coctails resulted in the recording of two songs in Barry's house. Nora O'Connor, who has sung with the Handsome Family, among others, helped out on backing vocals.
Following Settler’s return to Ireland, Barry mixed the album in his new studio, NorthBranchStudios.net, after which it was mastered by Roger Seibel in SAE, Arizona.
