goodnight all, and heres to freakscene irelands oldest indie club and her little sister planet of sound, it may have lost sir henrys but its unbeatable charm and friendliness will live on forever, just to illustrate wwhat i am talking about here is a littlle story it begins on a thursday night in a club in cork at which the dj is playing a mixture of music, that is untl an idiot who was undoubtedly wearing a rugby jersey thinks it would be a great laugh to throw an empty bottle down from the balcony, which resulte in two people having to be taken to hospital( so fair play i hope you read this and laugh you tosser) now imagine the same venue the following night which happens to be a friday and a crowd of people have gathered in this particular club to enjoy indie alternative music and to have some fun with friends, everybody is jumping around and pushing each other so inevitably people fall, but when they do the same people that were pushing thm immediately reach out a hand to pick them back up again. the point is, is that freakscene and planet of sound have a strange kind of communal atmosphere that i have never experienced anywhere else and for that reaon alone i wil always stay faithful to them, for despite not knowing many of the people that i dance with on any given night at the end of the day we are all afte the same thing and that is to have a good time and if at all possible not at the expense of others
