Release new single ‘Sixteen’ and announce 2FM 2moro 2our ‘2’
The Flaws release their new single entitled ‘Sixteen’ on May the 18th. The single was recorded at Grouse Lodge studios and mixed at Apollo in Dublin by acclaimed producer Gareth Mannix (Director/Republic Of Loose/Delorentos). It will be available to download from various digital music services worldwide including itunes and at record stores nationwide.
’Sixteen’, has long been a live favorite with it’s instantly hummable melody and sees lyricist Paul Finn delve deep into the darkest thoughts of his mind’s psyche to bring us an infectious indie pop tune of the highest calibre. It will be accompanied by an excellent video which was shot in February of this year and got it’s first airing on ATL TV on March 22nd.
A festival date in Bologna at ‘Irlanda In Festa’ on the 17th of March saw The Flaws play Italy for the first time. Other Irish artists that performed at the festival included Joe Chester and Interference.
The Flaws have been invited onto the 2FM 2moro 2our ‘2’ alongside Giveamanakick and Messiah J and the Expert. The tour which takes place between May 16th-27th will see the bands play 12 Irish dates including two all ages shows in Cork and Dublin. The tour was officially launched on Friday March 23rd on the Jenny Huston Show with special live performances by all three bands. Fans can get tickets for the tour on the 2FM website. The Flaws will also record another 2FM live session in Studio 8 on April 12th which will be broadcast throughout May.
The band performed some ‘noisy, dirty rock n’ roll ‘(as described by John Kelly himself) for ‘Other Voices’ broadcast on RTE Two in February along with performances from Get Cape Wear Cape Fly, Director, and Cerys Matthews. They also performed an acoustic take of ‘I Tremble For You’ on Alison Curtis’ show ‘The Last Splash’ when she broadcast a ‘Johnny Cash Special’, also in February.
Expect a second single in August followed by the release of their long and eagerly awaited debut album on September 7th.
