BENEFIT CONCERT: CHILDREN’S RELIEF FUND, PHILIPPINES “Society owes the child nothing less than the best it can give.” --UN Declaration on the Rights of the Child Come joins us March 14th in Temple Bar Music Centre for a Benefit Concert organised in support of the Children’s Relief Fund (CRF). CRF is a non-governmental organisation working with and for street children in the Philippines, attempting to raise awareness about the 100,000 children living on the streets of Manila today, as well as raising needed funds to implement food and educational projects for street children. In particular, the funds raised during this event will be used to help the 150 children benefiting from the CRF’s outreach work and care centres--60 who live on the streets, and 90 who live in Payatas, a dumping site and literal mountain of garbage. The organisation will provide 3 school classes per week, food, and school supplies for the children and will help the children and their families to get all necessary documents, such as birth certificates needed to attend public schools. A portion of the funds will also go towards a documentary commissioned by the CRF to raise awareness about the plight of street children today, and to showcase the different projects implemented by the organisation, demonstrating that with a small donation the lives of many children can be greatly improved! Temple Bar Music Centre has generously donated the space, and we've organised some great Irish bands thanks to the help of Sonic Eye Media!
