Massive night for POGO and Backlash Live this Saturday with an appearance from The Rapture who'll be nipping downstairs straight after their sold-out live Tripod gig to perform a DJ set. American quartet The Rapture hit the bigtime in 2002 with the release of their hugely successful global anthem "House Of Jealous Lovers". Their sound is right across the board combining everything from indie, punk, funk, disco, electro & so on. The band quotes their influences from the 1970's NYC & Chicago dance scene pioneers like Larry Levan and Marshall Jefferson. Roll forward to 2006 and The Rapture's underground party style tunes always lift the roof off; "it reminds me of being on a big beach party on an island somewhere" says vocalist and lead guitarist Luke Jenner. Support on the night comes from Dublin Electro Punks Aleko, and Backlash resident Chewy.
