Hi all, Details of next Ballroom /A /////////////////////////////////// Ballroom #62 Saturday March 10th The Lower Deck, Doors 9pm, €10 in, free CD-r to the first 100 Electric Eel Shock Electric Eel Shock are a glorious celebration of Classic Rock, Punk and Metal. A true power trio who make fresh and unique music with an attitude from the time before rock became fractured into a diverse multitude of sub-genres and we were all still one big happy rock & roll family. EES left their native Japan in 1999 to see what they could make of America and they have been on a near constant world tour ever since. Things stepped up a gear in early 2004 with the release of their first commercially available album Go Europe! By this time EES had already toured 27 countries on three continents and had little difficulty licensing this album to several labels around the world. Follow up album BEAT ME was written between EES's 27 festival appearances in the summer of 2004 and recording was completed early 2005 in Holland with legendary producer Attie Bauw (Judas Preist, Scorpians, Bootsy Collins etc). "BEAT ME occupies the gaping void somewhere between Queens Of The Stoneage, AC/DC and Black Sabbath. It's both as heavy and serious as that sounds... Yet has a mischievous and fun-filled heart." EES continued to conquer the international musical scene step by step throughout 2005 and the three-man rock phenomenon doesn’t look close to letting up in 2006 as critical acclaim and commercial success for BEAT ME continues to grow around the world. http://www.electriceelshock.com http://www.myspace.com/beatme Giveamanakick Giveamanakick are Steveamanakick and giveamanakeith. Having spent the past 3 years playing with various rock luminaries and music press darlings such as The Icarus Line, Ex-Girl, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Electric Eel Shock, Isis, The Soledad Brothers, Unsane, Melt Banana, Electric 6, Liars, Lightning Bolt, Black Eyes, The Undertones, Oxbow, Presidents of the United States Of America, Deftones, Dinosaur Jr and Rocket From the Crypt, as well as peddling their albums “Is It Ok To Be Loud, Jesus?” and “We Are The Way Forward” to anybody who’d listen, giveamanakick rested. Briefly. Then came an extensive UK tour with The Undertones, live TV performances, Radio Sessions, constant Local, National and International Airplay, appearances at festivals all over Europe, constant tours, and many sleepless nights… the giveamanakick way! http://www.giveamanakick.com http://www.myspace.com/giveamanakick Large Mound From Large Mound's scrappy beginings and 'here's a riff, heres a song!' philosophy has emerged Ireland's most credible bands. The simple aim of downstroke rock has remained the same though. The Mound have done all the usual band things like release a 7" single and split singles, the odd compilation contribution and two full length albums, Raised on Rock on Julius Geezer Records and Go Forth And Amplify on Scientific Laboratories, share stages with local peers touring bands and hot the road whenever they can. There's been some line-up changes too, but the band have never had to look far to find new players. Large Mound have started work proper on album number 3 due out in 2007 “somehow straddling an Fugazi meets AC/DC divide... classics!" The Dublin Event Guide ".. one day they will be looked upon as one of the best Irish rock bands of their time. Go Forth and Amplify is a tender and poignant manifestation of the metal dream" Leagues O'Toole, Irish Examiner http://www.largemound.com http://www.myspace.com/largemound
