yeah... quite extraordinary actually... dunno how familiar you are with them but it was quite a rockin' gig (in a psych way), more the sun awakens than the school of the flower...

Couldn't go but would love to have gone. Only release i have is "School of the Flower."
Saw Ben Chasny's Comets on Fire incarnation recently in Whelans. Quite fabulous.
Ally, anything else i should pick up from Six Organs that you'd recommend?

The Sun Awakens is amazing - interesting development from School of the Flower, more dynamic, more scuzzy distorted guitars. Side 2 is a beautiful 23-minute drone-folk epic.

yeah, go with the sun awakens... closer in feeling to comets on fire in parts actually... the gig last night was closer again... he played his electric right through, there was some great free-drumming and some good droney stuff coming out the bass... ...one thing about the sun awakens is that it feels a little unbalanced... in old terms, the first side (about 20 minutes) is 6 songs long and the second (23 minutes) is just the one piece... very good though
