Like the title says I’m looking to join a band or start something with other musicians (mid 20’s +) who want to play in a band, create great interesting music and push well beyond playing sh1tty mid-week pay-to-play gigs.

After wasting time in bands who were more talk than action & getting somewhat disillusioned with music I’m now looking to start jamming with people who are willing to commit time and money to a band.

As regards bass players whose stlye I like I'd say Duff McKagan, Mani (particularly what he played on XTRMNTR), Jason Chancellor (Tool)…so I guess it’d be relatively aggressive but with some nice melodies when appropriate. Not a fan of over w*nky jazz funk stuff either.

I listen to and appreciate a wide variety of music from Britpop to bluegrass, trip-hop to early trashy metal, and would ideally like to work with people who aren’t too precious as regards what they listen to.

That said I would like to create a sound which is somewhat electonic melodic alt rock in nature with a groove and having some nice complex or subtle things going on while also trying elements of trip-hop, garage, and techno.

I guess if I was trying to describe the music I'd like to make would be to put the following in a blender and see what happens : Tool, Primal Scream when they made Vanishing Point & XTRMNTR, a bit of Oasis (every so often you need a good sing along chorus),Smashing Pumpkins, Massive Attack, RATM, Ian Brown, Metallica, good rocking British rock (Zeppelin - The Who - Radiohead, etc), a bit of britpop and maybe add some techo, ambient and a bit of trip hop and perhaps throw in some garage as well. It could sound sh!t and may not even end up sounding like that but that'd be the general idea.

People who have a willingness to experiment with sounds and instruments would be a plus.

I also strongly think that while a stage show is in no way more important than the musicianship or the songs being played it is something which is really important.

Ideally I’d like to start jamming with people/bands who have songs written or lots of ideas but not necessarily completed…maybe jam out some covers and get an idea of everyone’s playing style and tastes???…lot’s of idea & looking for people who’re the same.
Oh yeah and having fun doing it would be pretty important as well!!

So if interested e-mail me pawtucketpete@hotmail.com

    Cheers!
