Explosions In The Sky. Their first album 'Those Who Tell The Truth Shall Never Die' released in 2000 is the best album ever made. Buy it and anyone disillusioned with the somewhat stale, derivative nature of many of today's bands will rejoice at the sheer, redemptive power of (post) rock!!! Thank You.

Whhhhattt?? Missed it. Sickener. No, I don't think it's best album ever, of course, but God it's good, especially last track. Second album excellent too. Absolute sucker for dreamy, 10 minute instrumental post-rock a la Mogwai, Sigur Ros, Godspeed etc...Bands really trying the reinvent the rock wheel. A billion miles from Kaiser Chiefs.

yeah, it was such a great gig. Cant remember when it was, maybe 2 years ago? Around the time 'The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place' came out. It was so powerful, they just played straight for an hour, no gaps, no banter just fantastic beautiful noise. here's a Q and A with the drummer before the gig http://www.eventguide.ie/articles.elive?session_id=11131411322481354&sku=040129001052

*looks at cd* *blinks* I presume you mean "those who tell the truth shall die, those who tell the truth shall live forever"? Quality stuff, not best ever, wouldn't even say it's their best - think the Earth is not a cold dead place is a fair bit better. Anywho, be sure and check out "How strange, innocence", their actual first release, too.

I've only heard "The earth is ..." but I agreee that it's wonderful. There is nice use of their stuff in the new Billy Bob Thornton American Football film "Friday Night Lights", good auld flick it is too.
