Club NME
This Thursday sees the second Club NME Dublin take place in the ming.. erm, murky depths of the Hub in Temple Bar, with a stellar line-up to keep the momentum of Club NME's inaugural night at Voodoo a few weeks ago (a debaucherous affair) going. Headlining on Thursday November 2nd is Stefan Murphy (aka The Mighty Stef) and his band of merry men (and women); also playing are the excellent Stagger Lee, whose singular brand of dark, bluesy indie-noir could well incite a large portion of the audience to become serial killers (disclaimer: Stagger Lee do not condone this behaviour) and THE find of the Hard Working Class Heroes Festival, Story of Hair. Like Stagger Lee, the gender-medley coalescence bring something that little bit different to the table: mostly spiky, off-kilter and unnerving indie melodies held together by singer Sinead's unnatural mewl. This assortment of local musical wonderment can be yours for just €10 - which includes permission to boogie when the bands are finished to your favourite choons, as spun by Club NME DJs. A bargain.
