Performing onstage with a drummer and an old school arts & crafts projectionist, Pallet plucks and bows violin expertly, looping each part seamlessly into the arrangement via surreptitious foot pedals. His second album of delicious chamber-pop He Poos Clouds saw off competition from fellow Canadian stars such as Wolf Parade and Broken Social Scene to scoop the inaugural Polaris Music Prize (Canadian equivalent of the Mercury Music Prize).
