EUROCULTURED FESTIVAL COMES TO DUBLIN DIRECT FROM MANCHESTER TO DRAW THE FESTIVAL SEASON TO A GRAND FINALE
Manchester based arts organisation, Spearfish, are working with Dublin City Council to bring their unique festival Eurocultured to Dublin on Sunday 24th September 2006. The festival runs 12 – 8pm and will be followed by an official aftershow party at the Voodoo Lounge ( 9pm – late).
The Smithfield area of Dublin will be transformed into a celebration of the diversity of European culture as top artists from the worlds of street art, dance, performance, cabaret, spoken word and music will perform on stages and in marquees throughout the site. Artists will also be running free workshops so people can have a go themselves!
Confirmed acts include: live music from One:Two (France); Spektrum (UK), Commes desd STARS (UK) - (Inspiring Edith Piaf tribute), The Mighty Stef (Ireland), an amazing live DJ showcase on 4 turntables by multiple world DMC and ITF team Champions c2c (France). There will also be a second acoustic stage featuring several local acts.
Live dance from The Fabulous Troupe Dancers (UK), Flamenco Flame (Spain) and live breakdance from Mouse (UK) and the Pockemon Crew (France).
Live painting on huge canvases by top street artists: San and Spok (Spain), Matt Sewell, Mac1, Ruse, Sumit Sarkar, Ouch, (UK), Aske (France)
and Asbestos (Ireland).
There will also be Elliot Eastwick’s World Famous Pub Quiz, spoken word from Martin Stannage and the unmissbale Whim Wham Club bring their unique form of cabaret to Dublin with 10 performers wowing you with their quirky skills that take in dance, song, performance and comedy.
There will be free workshops in illustration, spray can art, breakdance, flamenco, mask making, MCing, DJing and authentic food and drink from Spain, Italy, Germany, France and Greece.
