DEATH VIA SATELLITE .. 2, featuring Queen Kong Panda Radical Page 27
After the hugely successful DVS 01, where touring Los Angeles band Love Lies Sleeping and Mendoza stormed the stage with electrifying sets, we bring you a night of dancing, debauchery and death via satellite with Queen Kong, Panda Radical and Page 27...
DVS has moved to the now (in)famous Tuesday night slot in Eamonn Doran's, where special guest D(eath)J's will spin everything your heart desires in the world of rock/electro/indie/punk/funk until the early hours. Best of all, drinks are 3.50 after half ten to make sure you stay up all night, but get there early to catch 3 of the city's finest noisemakers...
Queen Kong have recently added to their sonic arsenal with the recruitment of a drummer and saxaphonist to vie for your attention amidst the moody basslines, ethereal guitar hooks, synth grind and singer Amy's powerful, sultry yet supremely driven vocals. Their sound continues to evolve and grow after a well received support slot with Canada's Lesbians On Ecstacy earlier this Summer so come with one of Dublin's most stylish and vital bands for a show as visual as it is visceral.
Panda Radical have stormed back onto the Dublin music scene in 2006 after a brief hiatus, bringing with them a brand new array of noise operas, full of soaring melodies and chiming guitars, so their performance at DVS is not to be missed. With a singer that fuses all that is good about Matt Bellamy and Brian Molko with his own powerful, lilting voice and songs full of clever riffing and guitar hooks, Panda Radical will be in your head and on your lips after their eagerly awaited DVS performance...
Page 27 have been compared to bands such as The Manic Street Preachers and The Smashing Pumpkins so far by Irish personalities such as Darragh Purcell and The Walls. There are few bands on these isles that can captivate & entertain like Page 27, with songs like 'Cactus Hug' and 'Sahara Won't Do' showing a sneer, spark and swagger that suggests big things in their future. Catch them at DVS in anticipation of their forthcoming album 'The Fence'.
Doors at 8.45, admission is 5.
