HGF Present BOR #54 Friday 28th of July The Lower Deck, Portobello Harbour Doors 9pm €8 in Free CD-r to the first 100 featuring The Blue Poles Crayonsmith The Family Mule more info at http://www.ballroomofromance.com The Blue Poles Nearly a year to the day since their final gig and launch of their E.P, Peacock Feathers in Melbourne, Australia, The Blue Poles, one part Australian two parts Irish will reform for one gig only this July. From early 2005 to July 05, The Blue Poles managed to squeeze into under half a year what most bands would only expect to achieve in two years. Playing in many of Melbourne’s established venues and the first internationally hosted Ballroom of Romance at the Vic, Brunswick, they gained a reputation for delivering an explosive performance in the great tradition of a rock band three piece. With both Murray and Arthurs now back in Dublin they’ll be reunited with Robig, joining them from Melbourne, where they hope to bring to the Lower Deck the same inspired performance and chemistry they experienced in Australia. Crayonsmith has so far released an E.P, You Get Down Here, a split Christmas single with the band Windings on Outonalimbrecords and an Album, Stay Loose which has received much positive reviews across the country. hhp://www.myspace.com/crayonsmith The Family Mule The Family Mule is an Australian band that produces fine, foot-stomping and sometimes esoteric music, with a rocking sound that might jump between the likes of John Spencer and Creedence Clear Water Revival to the quietest folk. Not just a band but more of an art project – The Family Mule also produces plays and other distractions. The Family Mule is “one of the most important but little known bands around town…their name is growing”. Beat Magazine, Melbourne. http://familymule.com
