Catch The Things live at Fri 16th June - McGarrigles, Sligo Fri 23rd June - Tower Records, Wicklow St Dublin (6pm) Sat 24th June - Psycho Fest, Voodoo Lounge Dublin (headliners) more tba.... www.thethingsireland.moonfruit.com www.myspace.com/thethings "Some kind of kick" is the new single by Dublin terror-merchants The Things, avaibale on Sound Foundation Records. Following on from their self-produced debut offering, Psycho Sound EP , this latest release will hit all good record stores on 23rd of June 2006. The single is a fine example of their sonic prowess and a testament to their DIY, ‘no compromises’ work ethic. The limited edition 7" vinyl also includes the live favourite "I want more". Both tracks were recorded and produced by Leo Pearson (U2, Elvis Costello). Mixed by Richard Rainey (U2, The Chalets). Since their formation in 2002, The Things have become notorious in their homeland for their high-octane shows and have touted their sleazy rock ‘n’ roll in The UK, Germany and Spain, as well as making an appearance at the SXSW music festival in Austin Texas 2005 which was followed by a short east coast tour in the US. No stranger to high profile supports, The Things have terrified and wowed audiences in equal measure, with the likes of The Warlocks, The Hives, The Fall, Peaches, Brian Jonestown Massacre, Arctic Monkeys, Baby Shambles, Thin Lizzy and The Damned. The frenzied live antics of deviant front man Neilo Thing set this band apart from any other. Stalking the stage like a predator, his bloodlust knows no bounds. While he consumes the audience with his sneering sleaze, his uber-solid henchmen trash out their soundtrack of sex, violence and mistrust of normality. These misfits want your bones. Expect this band to do bad bad things to you very soon.
