Entertainment.ie is proud to present... RESERVOIR Crawdaddy, Thursday February 16th Doors 7.30pm Admission €8 or €5 with a concession from www.entertainment.ie/reservoir We came to a bit of a revelation recently. We wouldn't have jobs if it weren't for you lot either a) getting your bits together to play gigs if you're in a band and b) getting your arses out to attend said gigs. We owe you one. We want to repay you. Which is where Reservoir comes in. If you reckon your band could make it if provided with the right platform to show off, we'll do all the little fiddly bits on your behalf. We'll promote the gig, we'll hire the venue, heck, we'll even leave little white towels backstage for you. All you have to do is turn up and play. Come along on the 16th and see how it's done. And if you're more music observer than virtuoso, we'll weed out the dross from the dynamic and provide a regular gig night where you can go and see the stars of tomorrow for the cheapest price in the city. 'Cos it's not about money for us; we're fully aware that the Irish music scene is on the up and we want to help. We want to dip into that endless reservoir of talent and drag the most exciting acts out by the scruff of the neck. It's an exciting time and we want to be part of it. Why shouldn't the abundance of talented Irish acts be filling the pages of NME, Mojo and Uncut? For the Reservoir launch night we've brought together three fantastic local bands for your aural pleasure; there's the dazzling 60s/mod sensibility of The Urges, who set pulses racing with their raucous live sets. They've been compared to everyone from The Who and early Stones to The La's and The Zutons and will just be back from two showcase dates in Glasgow (where they have quite the fan base) to play at Reservoir. We also have the scintillating country-tinged blues-rock of Porn Trauma, still glowing with the success of their Top 20 debut single 'Sunrise', and to top it all off, opening our show will be The Heathens, who plough a similar furrow to Kings of Leon and have been gigging hard all over the city for the past six months. The best thing of all is that our inaugural gig will only set you back a measly €5 if you download the concession from www.entertainment.ie/reservoir. A fiver for three impressive bands? Not bad. You can't lose. See you there. Wanna get involved? Send your demo/EP to: entertainment.ie, RESERVOIR, 26 Great Strand Street, Dublin 1 or bring it along to Crawdaddy on the 16th. We'd love to hear it.
