Kerrynini When - Friday January 20th - wow! Where - Kirby's Brogue (side-bar), Tralee, Co Kerry - Super! What Time - Doors 10 - 2pm - Amazing! How Much - Free - Fantastic! Kerrynini - Kickin the truth to the Kerry youth. Back with a bang and a new venue, Kerrynini presents a live hiphop bonanza with two very special guests for the January session. Beatboxing, djing, scratching and mc-ing will all be on show, as the regular Kerrynini djs will be joined by Dublin's Whitenoise, Irelands undisputed beatboxing hero, and Chance, the one man rhyming ruckus whose track-record belies a man with a deep understanding of the essence of hiphop. Watch out now! The full line-up goes something a little like this... Kerrynini dj's - Johnny Doobs King Dumb Man with no name Paul Harty Emcee Showcase - Chance(Cork) Beatboxing Showcase - Whitenoise(Dublin) Visuals courtesy of the man known as King Dumb. Biogs WhiteNoise White Noise is a Beatboxer. Using only his mouth, he creates beats, rhythms and DJ routines. He draws influence from all styles of music, but mainly centres around making hiphop / dnb beats. White Noise has been performing live since December 2001. Since 2003, White Noise has had approximately 160 live shows, and appeared on various radio shows and advertisements on FM104, RedFM, 2FM and JazzFM. White Noise also appeared on Irish television on a children's feauture about busking and has conducted Human Beatbox workshops. In terms of live events, White Noise has performed in Dublin at venues as varied as Crawdaddy, the Village, Slane Castle (UCD B&L Ball), The Red Box, Spirit, The Sugar Club, Viva, Eamonn Doran's, The Hub, The Music Room, TBMC, The Boom Boom Room, The Voodoo Lounge, UCD, and Trinity College. White Noise does solo and collaborative work. During 2005 he performed weekly in Ukiyo Bar, Exchequer St, Dublin with Skinful an Australian guitar outfit. White Noise provided the "drums" with his mouth. Highlights of 2005 were... Collaborating with Skinful, appearing on the 1st Irish hiphop mixtape release "Homemade Bombs", appearing on the Wire Horizon compilation CD, supporting Channel One (CH-1) in Crawdaddy, meeting top UK beatboxer Killa Kela, performing at the European ITF DJ competition and representing Ireland at the World Beatboxing Championships in Leipzig in the Solo Advancement category. Chance Keeping with the tradition of the Master of Ceremonies, Chance always delivers with his live shows. Known for his relaxed manner with the crowd and animated delivery of his songs the Corkman never fails to entertain. In between sips of a pint of stout, expect to hear him telling stories about everyday life in rhyme, ripping mutli-sylable battle rhymes over reggae and rocking out over Grand Funk Railroad. Watch out After 5 years cutting his teeth on the live hip hop circut Chance began to focus his energy back on making music and started working on tracks with producer Mr. Barton (The Foot, Johnny Doobs, Sebi C). In August 2005 Chance and Mr. Barton gave a taster of what was to come with their "Drunk & In Charge" demo. The demo, which showcased Chances ability to go from a narritive style of rhyming to straight up battle rhyming over Mr. Bartons neck snapping beats, recieved positive feedback from all who heard it and spurred the crew on to make more tracks. As well as working on tracks and doing live shows Chance also hosts "The Critical Beatdown" radio show on Corks alternative pirate station Freak FM, promoting the best in underground hiphop from around the globe.
