Robert Blake – Irish Tour
Wednesday October 26th, 8 pm, Toner’s of Baggot Street, 6 euro
Robert Blake
Anaïs Mitchell + Agitated Radio Pilot
American folk singer, Robert Blake, returns for another exhaustive Irish tour before playing in Wales and then returning to the States for more gigs. Blake’s bewitching, storytelling songs and machine-gun guitar playing set him apart from other songwriters. His ability to engage an audience from the first bar has won him many friends and followers on previous tours here and abroad.
Vermont-born Anaïs Mitchell makes her Irish debut in Toner’s. She grew up on a sheep farm with her novelist father and community activist mother before moving to Boston, where she puzzled frazzled commuters with her finely honed revolutionary folk songs. Mitchell probably didn’t vote for George Bush.
Agitated Radio Pilot has had many guises since its birth over a decade ago but this time it will likely be more folk than metal.
