Since his Irish debut supporting Finnish pop eccentric Jimi Tenor in Vicar Street and his follow up gig with Ambient Japanese artist Susumu Yakota, Chequerboard, aka John Lambert, has concentrated on putting the finishing touches to his debut album which will be shortly released on Reverb Records. Chequerboard’s electronica sets are overlayed with his acoustic guitar skills. Juxtaposing soundscapes which are icy and clinical whilst ambient and romantic.
