Just to mention to people that Midem's live concert programme is set well in advance of this december and the fair focuses primarily on distribution deals of records already made and for sale. The key thing about midem is that the irish contingent produce a cd of sample music from ireland, a track is usually allocated to each participating company. This is a free service to delegates but space is limited. Over 1000 cds are pressed and handed out free. You really need to be on the CD to get the most out of Midem Best Jules

I full agree with you. The thing is how do bands get on to the CD if they are not working with a copmany who is attending MEDIM...??? You can't is the answer. Plus it is not trun that only distrabution deals are done at MEDIM. I have just finalized a deal for a Dublin band with a US copmany both management and record and this relationship was foraged at Medim 04. If you know the right people and have the right product you can at a min start a working relationship with labels on record, publishing, licenseing and distrabuting. Just a note for you all. MEDIM is not an event to attend as a band. It is a place of business and meetings are planned well in advance of the event. Also 99% of companies will not meet with bands and don't want demo's from bands as it cost them money to lessen to them. As they say "If we want it We already know about it". In other words, labels are only interested in acts that are A. selling records or have been recamemded to them by sorry to people like me. If you interested in meeting let me know....! Cheers..!
