There’s nothing like catching a singer who’s still in their “hidden gem” status. It’s like you’re privy to some hot secret, some scandalous musical treat that will inevitably blossom beyond its localized audience and into the bars, radios, and CD slots of every forthcoming avid listener. Such is the case for up and comer Irish-American, New York City based, singer-songwriter Joe Brack. He is currently preparing his first All Ireland music tour and is set to play six venues the first week of November. Joe Brack’s musical style is hard to pigeonhole. One toe is emerged in the Pop-Rock pool, while the other lingers in the Roots/ Alternative jacuzzi. His crisp lyrics and melodic harmonies lend an air of folk influence, yet his obvious respect for classic American country and rock shines through in nearly every light-hearted and tender, toe-tapping song. Think David Gray, a splash of David Byrne with a twist of James Taylor. After mounting success with his first album’s release, “Stones Throw Away”, which won 2nd Album of the year category in the “Just Plain Folks” Music Award (an organization honoring musicians and songwriters worldwide), Joe has recently released his second album, “Superhero” with ModMusic Records. A loyal hoard of listeners frequent Joe’s mainstay performing haunt in New York City- The Bitter End, a landmark Greenwich Village institution where Bob Dylan and Bill Cosby each took to the stage. Beyond the Big-Apple, various Joe Brack gigs are held at long-standing, world-renown venues in both Boston and Nashville. The upcoming Ireland-tour is the first time the singer-songwriter, who also arranges and produces his own music will take his striking tunes across the Atlantic. The debut show hits Donegal’s Schooner Inn with follow-up gigs in Belfast, Derry, Boyle, and Dublin on the following dates: Sat Oct 30th @11pm - Schooner, Donegal Mon Nov 1st @9:30pm - Auntie Annies, Belfast Tues Nov 2nd @10pm - Sandinos, Derry Wed Nov 3rd @10pm - Moving Stairs, Boyle Thurs Nov 4th @8:30pm - Whelans, Wexford Street, Dublin Fri Nov 5th @8:45pm - The HUB, Temple Bar, Dublin You can catch up with Joe at www.joebrack.com, or get a live ear around his tunes when he hits the Irish stages in a couple weeks time.
