Medea, Northstation and more After 30 shows the Ballroom of Romance celebrates its second birthday with a 6 date tour around the country from Sligo to Cork. Started in 2002 by Dublin independent scene stallworths Holy Ghost Fathers, the Ballroom has provided a cheap, friendly alternative to the prevailing pay-to-play regime of Dublin's Mainstream venues. Rather than focusing on the local scene the Ballroom has always sought out the best in Irish music north and south, and even provided a much needed platform for touring acts from as far away as Australia and the US. The tour kicks off with a huge bash at the Music Centre Templebar with 14 act on 2 stages featuring amongst others The Jimmy Cake. A limited number of a free CD-r compilation featuring music from the best acts to play over the last year will be given out at each gig.
