After getting fed up with spending hours every week trying to find out what's happening in my home town of Cork in terms of live music, I went and made a website to take all the work out of the process for those who lack the initiative or don't know where to look. It's called CorkGigs.com (I never had much of an imagination), and it is a purely voluntary effort by myself, there's no ads, gimmicks or commercial agenda at all. The best thing about it, in my opinion, is that you can see at a glance what's on and where in the next few days, weeks and months if you like. It's very simple, there's no clutter, just one gig per line. So whether you're a citixen of the Peoples' Republic, or if you're heading down to Cork any night or weekend, or if you're returning home from exile for a few days in the near future, just have a lamp at this site and you won't miss a thing.
