Hi there. This is a very important message for all of you who will be in Dublin over Easter!
A good friend of mine has undertaken a great challenge and she needs your help! In July 2004 Denise Moore will be scaling Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa, to raise funds to help the great work of the organisation Childaid.
On Easter Monday Denise will be hosting a gig in Whelan's to raise some of these funds. Playing on the night are Susan Scully, Lynsey Sanna and Lotusland.
Money collected will go to 'The Street Childrens Projects' in the slums of Nairobi. Conditions in the slums are desperately basic, with up to a quarter of a million people living in abject poverty. In the shanty towns food is always a problem with water and medicine very scarce. Denise's climb will help to build schools and provide books and equipment for the children. By giving these children an education the vicious circle that their families have been trapped in can be broken.
