For many years now that has unfortunately not been the case for a town of such importance.Thankfully this is about to change, with the opening of the Northeast’s biggest live venue and club, *Star. The Club is part of The Star and Crescent complex, which houses, The Crescent bar, The famed Green Lady Restaurant (formally of Termonfeckin, Co Louth) and the *Star club and venue. For many years most of the major touring international and national acts, that played Dublin and Belfast, simply by-passed the music –starved lovers of Drogheda and its vast surrounding catchment area. But no longer, with news that from the end of February the new venue will be opening its doors to the public with an array of leading Irish and International Music, Comedy and theatre acts set to perform. Boasting state of the art technical facilities with a full PA and lighting production, and in house 8k rig, this venue will set it apart from anything in North Leinster. With a capacity of 800 for standing shows and 400 for seated shows this venue is set to put Drogheda and live music back on the international map.
