I wanted to just say fair play to Anna Murray for the review of the new KOL album. I got it myself and her review describes the album pretty much how I see it. Totally agree about what she said about 'Youth And Young Manhood'. It was also nice to read this coming off the back of Dromed's insightful live review of KOL. Was getting a bit worried, thanks to his review, that the lads were slipping in form. So I stalled on getting the cd but glad I did in the end.
By the way, does anyone know if they plan on returning to Irish shores in 05?

I believe KOL and Snowpatrol are supporting U2 in 'O5.

Heehee...no worries
I hope I wasn't being too mean in the review...I certainly wouldn't put anyone off buying the record and I hope it hasn't, cos It's a cracker...the gig was just a bit lacklustre and messy and I was very surprised by it cos they're never like that and wnated to give an honest account..especially after the gushing review of the Olympia gig...hope that came across!

Are you referring the the Olympia last year? Words can't describe how underwhelming I found that.

Dromed: It wasn't that your review was too harsh or anything. Just that I was still unsure about KOL. I loved the debut album as soon as I got it. Although, I didn't really enjoy their set at Oxegen as much as I had hoped to. Maybe I should've tried harder to see them in TBMC. But you didn't put me off the new album, just made me think twice. And yes it is a cracker. Summed up expertly by Anna Murray in HER (not making same mistake again) review...

To the former: thanks Gar!
To the latter: I sincerely hope so.

Problem is with me, I miss loadsa gigs cuz haven't got enough mates that are into good music. Sometimes I go alone and cover the gigs but very fustrating waiting in your own during set-up, intervals, after the gig. A big awwww now. I'll defo be going to them when they come back though. Was listening to new album all day yesterday.

Ah yeah. Sure I won't make the same mistake again. Missed KOL, Steve Earle, Dr. John, Tom Baxter, Jackson Browne, Simon & Garfunkel all this year. Which reminds me that I have to cross R.E.M. off the list and get a ticket.

(Roger who? exactly.)
