Great country this, everyone has a job. I dont feel British.
"your wanna be West Britain"
and you wonder why in the North everything looks like its stuck in 1985.
"Everyone" might have a job, but the standard of living isn't amazing - we've a disasterous health system, a diabolical communications network, terrible public transport (in the counties where they HAVE public transport), an over-priced, staggering housing market, an ever increasing gap between the haves & have-nots, and all presided over by a buffoon who can't seem to remember why had a bank account... calling to mind Father Ted's quote - "The money was just resting in my account".
Ireland IS a great country, but our economic status has a lot more to do with luck than anything else... the attitude that "everything's great - everyone's got a job" is exactly the reason why the general public voted Bertie back in for another term (and made me seriously question the sensibility of allowing people to vote in a democracy!).
As for the "west britain" comment by PQ.. well, it's as valid as your comment about the North looking like it's stuck in the 80s... don't dish it out if ya can't take it!
