This month, we're joined by the walking-funkbomb that is Mr. A2DF, a Limerick man who has carved out a serious reputation over the last few years as both a block-rocking selector and nimble-fingered scratch DJ. He’ll have a mix CD’s that he’ll be handing out on the night so get there early if you want a freebie.
Also on the bill are the truly amazing Craiceann, the local-based 4 piece percussion group who’ve been spreading their good vibes around Tralee and further a field for some time now. Dancing shoes are recommended for this one.

CRAICEANN
Craiceann are a 4-piece percussion band. The percussive backbone of the band play their interpretation of traditional West African rhythms, Cuban flavoured songs and even a little dash of Brazilian Samba Reggae. These rhythms are played on a wide variety of percussion instruments, namely, Djembe drums, (a traditional African hand drum) and the Djun Djuns, (three stick played bass drums), Congas, (3 Cuban hand drums), Repenique (Brazilian stick drum), Snare drum and the bells and whistles of the smaller percussions! This mix is complimented by flute and singing.
These interlocking, musical rhythms have had a mesmerising effect on audiences at events such as the Kerry Arts Festival, Siamsa Tire, ClubHeadBangBang and the Kerry Juggling Festival.
A2DF
It is true that countless djs have massive hoards of tunes, but A2DF doesn't just have stacks of vinyl, he has an extensive collection of it. He has been djing for about 4 years, but on the evidence of his recent sets, he has a massive catalogue of hip hop, funk, dub, reggae and disco that would put most others to shame. You get the feeling from his mixes that he not only enjoys playing records, he loves it! This is a dj that wont be defined by genres, but will actually try to combine them.
A2DF has been djing mostly around Limerick city (Ireland) for local promoters Jazzmag entertainment and Viva Music (the studio peeps), and in the past he was resident at the now defunct Soul Clinic in Dolans Warehouse. He has played alongside plenty of national and International acts such as Tony Vegas (Scratch Perverts), Junior Murvin, Mad Professor, Dynamo Productions, Arrested Development, and DJ Mek. He not only spins tunes, but also is a well respected scratch dj, when it's required. Blending a huge mixture of tunage into his sets, A2DF is really making a name for himself both locally & nationally. His latest residency is at the Greenrooms venue in Limerick, on the first Friday of each month, and this has seen him warming up for Irish talents such as DJ's Tu-ki, Deviant and O.B. (on a 4 deck set-up). He also helps run the promotional organisational aspects of night.
The way he puts his dj sets and mixes together is always something interesting.. He certainly knows how to keep the vibe going, with clever mixing, and some inspirational moments for sure. Oh, and his strictly 45's dj sets are quickly becoming the stuff of
legend.
