They have been compared to artists like the Beach Boys, the Divine Comedy, Burt Bacharach and Rufus Wainwright. While they have an undoubted 60's fondness for killer tunes, they are also vaguely experimentally inclined – unusual chord changes, wilfully obtuse tunes, millions of vocals and odd song structures. Stanley Super 800: In April last year Stanley Super 800 released their eponymously-titled début album. It featured mixed up acoustic and electronic instruments roaming diverse styles ranging from pop to post rock. Constant gigging has seen the band's sound evolve somewhat over the last year; leaving their folktronic/electro roots behind for rockier ground while still remaining fresh and avoiding musical cul de sacs. On this occassion they'll be mixing in a country music version of their set, incorporating banjo, fiddle and slide guitar. Patrick Freyne and his Bad Intentions: Patrick Freyne and his Bad Intentions make melodramatic, rootsy pop music. Patrick Freyne formerly made garage rock with the NPB and country music with El Diablo.
