yeah thats right stef won't be playing. were thinking of getting a few has-been's/never gonna be's over from the UK to DJ. Yeah, the plan is to pay them loads of money to play other peoples songs and stick a few local bands on when the doors open, that way we'l really support young irish talent y'lnow. And just to prove how much we want to support irish acts were gonna STOP the acts on our bill from playing any other gig (even if they'd really like to!) on the same night, regardlesss of how potentially rewarding such a gig could be to them. And then were gonna put RECORDS after the name of our organisation for no appareent reason (we never will actually release RECORDS!!) but people might take us seriously and not see us for the pricks that we obviously are.

Wobbs, this is obviously aimed at us at cpu, so let me respond. First off we are bringing over some DJs to play other peoples music, whats new in that? Secondly, all the venues around town have gigs on till around 11 then a club night with DJs, which is exactly what we doing. Stazi, The Subtonics, The Mighty Stef and Humanzie and Channel One are hardly all gonna play when the doors open - They are playing till 12 then DJs take over ( With DJs playing in between band changeovers to keep the music flowing ). We thought this was the format most people would like. Any promoter putting on a night would not appreciate hearing that one of the acts booked was going on to play in another venue. But rather than just pull Stef from the Noise Party I asked Stef to get what I personally think is a great band called The Gurriers to replace him so as not to leave the Noise Party without an act. (Not that they could not get their own, but I was just trying to help). As for never releasing a record, we have not done so yet but that does not mean we are not going to. Using words like prick and so on makes me think this has upset you in some way and you might in some way be connected with The Noise Party. Eyebrowy put up a post on their forum saying the cpu gig was going to be a great night and then when The Noise Party was going to take place pulled the post and then booked an act they knew we had already booked, and now have some sort of problem with cpu?. Lads come on and stop the nonsense. We are both too busy to be stupidly arguing. I wish the Noise Party and eyebrowy every success, theres room for us all with no need for bad blood.

funny, that wasnt in the news tonight why exactly are you bringing eyebrowy into this????? like i said before, I posted a message saying that i was gonna go to cpu gig to see Lee from alfie, i then changed my mind on what i was doing for the night so deleted MY post, yes i deleted my post, anoyone has the right to delete their own post on any forum, it was not an administrative act. i hope that you will one day get over the loss of this thread, u have to accept that it is gone. if cpu had of started the topic i would not have deleted it, im not so stupid to think that the eyebrowy forum has the power to influence where people choose to go out, i know 90% of the people who post on it personally & know where they are gonna be on the night, and i know that theres gonna be a good crowd in tbmc on halloween regardless. so why would i bother trying to "stifle" it as you suggest. nobody planned to undermine CPU's gig and still don't, the noise party came up with the idea of putting together an eyebrowy gig a long time ago, we thought it might bring in a crowd and be a good laugh and everyone would be a winner, stef was on the line up coz it made sense, there has been a lot of interest in our last animation and a lot of people intruiged to see the real mighty stef, people who wouldnt have gone to see him otherwise and i know this for a fact. we just wanted him to be part of what we think will be a great night, hence why he was offered a headline slot and seen as we're making no money from it we did not think cpu would have a problem with stef coming down to do a few acoustic tunes. Eyebrowy's name was put to FREE gig with a fantastic line up, so try to imagine how pleased we were about that. WE did not book any of the bands! we are just forever grateful to the noise party, tbmc and the bands for the word eyebrowy being associated with such a great event. this is a once of event, nothing this big happen to eyebrowy again, let us have our moment!! FREE ADMISSION.... YOU KNOW IT MAKES SENSE!

    Absolutely nothing. Thats my point.

Not true. We were planning to finish completely at 11:30 knowing that there would be a portion of the crowd hoping to go to both gigs. 11:30 would've left plenty of time for those people to head up to the village. Since its free in to our night, its quite possible they couldve afforded the €15 entry fee to yours.

Apologies. I didnt mean literally when the doors open. But in fairness, you really do have to squint to see the names of the four local bands on the poster. Personally, I just find it unfortunate that (ex-)musicians DJing other peoples music get a superior billing than local musicians performing their own.

We were cool with Stef playing youre gig aswell as ours. In fact we asked him just to do an acoustic set, so as to make his slot at our gig a little different than the one at yours.

Personally, i havent heard or seen them and we'd rather not offer them a co-headline slot at one of our gigs. Besides, the last eyebrowy cartoon has generated considerable curosity about The Mighty Stef with people who are unfamiliar with his live show and would be well up for seeing him play at a free gig. I imagine theyre less curious about The Gurriers. Thanks but no thanks.

I just find it strange that CPU Records has (as of yet) had nothing to do with buying, selling or putting out Records. Unlike EMI Records, Island Records, Rough Trade Records, Tower Records.

We'd asked stef to do this gig a long time ago although the date of the gig remained uncertain. Organising gigs on a free basis means we're very limited to the dates we get offered, and it just so happened that we were offered the venue on halloween night due to a cancellation.

You decided that there wasnt room for us all when you asked our co-headline act not to play at our gig.

Hey you two, this arguement that your having seems to be atracting some reads, 240 and counting. I'm trying to go to both gigs but I want to see Channel One first and don't know if I'll get back into the Village after the Things. It sounds like the two of you both want your gigs be successful but your turning me right off going to either gig with this teen stuff, if you go on like this you'll both come out as losers. You obviously have a lot to gain by kissing and making up, so why not shake hands and get on with promoting your gigs, leave your dirty washing in the launderette! Shush! Not another word outta you two! I don't care who started it! Zip it! No Butts! I said Zip it! I saw that! If I gotta come in here again there'll be hell to pay! Lights off NOW!

We totally aggree, and funnily enough last night I was thinking the same thing about Blur Oasis etc. We support what Eyebrowy and Noiseparty are doing and wish them the best (although we're dreading what incarnation CPU might take in future Eyebrowy productions ;0) and Nesquik if you're out there please keep posting your advertisemants for Noiseparty gigs on CPU (we miss you). Bren, Amawaster, Wobbs get in touch and we'll stick you on the guest list for our gig if you want to come down after your gig. Best of luck with your show, we love you guys! Infact Eyebrowy introduced us to Alfies music and set us on the path to getting Lee Gorton over so cheers lads! it's great to be introduced to such class music. http://www.cpu.ie
