CLUAS Writers: profile of Una Mullally

A journalist, I began my foray into the murky world of publishing with two short-lived 'zines in the mid-90s - 'Infotainment' and 'QED'. After a dramatic implosion, I wrote a little bit for The Slate, followed by a year or so at the (then newly opened) Hub rock venue in Temple Bar, contributing gig reviews and interviews to the website and working with rock photographers Miss Lili and Burco. www.thehubmezz.com was one of the slickest sites around until everyone got pissed off and it was removed, erasing all the articles and snazzy features. Then followed a year and a half stint at The Event Guide interviewing everyone and anyone who played in Dublin during that period (2004/2005) along with album reviews and the occasional film review. A one-off feature for Totally Dublin followed, before I became a news reporter with The Sunday Tribune. Having nipped music journalism in the metaphorical bud career-wise, Cluas acts as an important outlet for my cynicism and general moans.
