Lauryn Hill 'Turn your Lights Down'

Can this woman do no wrong?!

OK folks. Here comes yet another masterpiece c/o Ms Hill and the late, but still great, Bob Marley. "Turn your lights down low" is the forthcoming single taken from the soundtrack for the film "Best Man".

Ex-Factor Remixes I can't comment on the film but this track is sheer understated, chilled-out magic. Unfortunately, the rest of the soundtrack fails to live up to this single. But there again, genius is hard to emulate.

The tempo and melody for "Turn your lights down low" is reminiscent of the recent Whitney Houston hit, "My Love is Your Love". Ms Hill is truly blessed with a voice from the heavens which could excuse almost any act of wrongdoing. I presume that she has no intention of taking up a path of crime... Her voice is sweet, raw ,soulful and in a league of its own.

All the superlatives have been exhausted for "Miseducation of Lauryn Hill". Understandably, she is much in demand for her songwriting and production skills. She generously delivers her magic to others. "All that I can Say" is written , arranged and produced by Ms Hill and is a standout track on Mary J Blige's album "Mary". It's soulful, lyrical and meaningful - something like a miracle.

Talent, critical acclaim and commercial success: if she was a company, I'd rush out and buy shares - as many as I could get. This lady has created an inaccessible standard of quality with her debut solo offering. With all the pitfalls of the notorious "second" album , I hope she can excel her own superlative and exquisite standards.
